Christoph Brutschin

Christoph Brutschin (born February 21, 1958 ) is a Swiss politician ( SP ). He has been a member of the government council of the canton of Basel-Stadt since 2009 .

Life

Christoph Brutschin is an economist. Before becoming a member of the government, Christoph Brutschin worked as a teacher and rector at the KV Basel business school.

Brutschin was elected to the Grand Council of Basel-Stadt in 1992, to which he was a member until 2005. From 2001 he was also the vice-president of his parliamentary group. From 2000 to 2009 Brutschin was a member of the bank council of Basler Kantonalbank . He was also a member of the management of the cantonal SP from 2004 to 2009. In 2008 Brutschin was elected to the government council together with Hans-Peter Wessels as the successor to party comrades Barbara Schneider and Ralph Lewin . There Brutschin is the head of the Department for Economic, Social and Environmental Affairs (WSU). In January 2020, Brutschin announced his resignation at the end of the current legislative period.

Brutschin is married and has a daughter.
