Christoph Keller (publisher)
Christoph Keller (* 1969 in Stuttgart ) is a German publisher , book designer , exhibition maker and schnapps distiller .
After studying fine art and art history at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the Karlsruhe University of Design , Christoph Keller founded the publishing house "Revolver - Archive for Current Art" in Frankfurt am Main in 1998 , which he directed until 2005 and as Publisher published nearly 500 titles. Since 2006, Keller has published a series of specific artist books (Christoph Keller Editions) for the Swiss art publisher JRP Ringier .
Keller is also active as a curator of various exhibitions, including the exhibition series “Circles” at the Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe and the exhibitions / archive presentations KIOSK - Modes of Multiplication, which have been shown in 21 institutions worldwide since 2001.
He taught at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam , the Merz Academy in Stuttgart, the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main, the École des beaux-arts in Rennes (F), the Werkplaats Typografie, Arnhem (NL) and the Konsthøgskole Bergen (N). From 2003 to 2004, Keller held a professorship for typography and artistic publishing at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts .
In 2010, Christoph Keller was the first non-Swiss to receive the renowned Jan Tschichold Prize for book design from the Swiss Federal Office of Culture.
He currently lives and works as a publisher , designer and curator at Lake Constance.
Together with his wife, Christoph Keller ran a distillery for top quality fruit distillates ( Stählemühle ) until the end of 2018 and a conservation breeding facility for endangered livestock breeds.
