Christoph Michael March
Christoph Michael März (born July 14, 1956 in Nuremberg ; † November 9, 2006 ) was a German old Germanist .
Life
After attending the Adam-Kraft-Gymnasium in Schwabach and the Heinrich-Schliemann-Gymnasium in Fürth , he completed a teaching degree with the subjects German and Latin at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nuremberg from 1975 and five years later a master’s degree (major Germanic and German Philology, first minor in musicology, second minor in Latin). After completing his doctorate with Karl Bertau in 1986, he received a one-year DFG scholarship. From 1987 he was assistant to Karl Bertau. After completing his habilitation in 1993, he received a Heisenberg grant (1996–2001). In 2001 he became a university lecturer in Leipzig . In 2002 he became professor for older German literature with a focus on German literature and language from the beginnings to the 13th century at the Free University of Berlin .
