Christoph Weyers

Christoph Weyers (* 1965 in the Allgäu ) is a German stage and costume designer who is known for his equipment for theater and musical productions in German-speaking countries, Italy and the Czech Republic.

Life

After training as a theater painter , he studied stage and costume design and initially worked for film and television productions. From 1998 he became Associate Set Designer for the German productions of Tanz der Vampire , Cats , Les Misérables and Mozart! . He then worked as a freelance set designer for revues at the Friedrichstadt-Palast and shows such as Best of Musicals . Christoph Weyers has received the Audience Award of the Czech Republic several times for his stage sets by Les Misérables (2009), Jekyll and Hyde (2012), Ghost (2015), Titanic (2017) and The Last Ship and Nine (2019). In 2019 he will stage the musical Scrooge - A Christmas Story for the second time in the Museumsquartier in Vienna. At the Simpl cabaret in Vienna, he directed the musical Augustin based on the radio play of the same name by Wolfgang Ambros , Manfred diving and Joesi Prokopetz . Christoph Weyers wrote the book on this together with the Viennese author / actor Thomas Kahry .

Christoph Weyers lives and works in Berlin and has his studio in the premises of the Gallissas Theaterverlag.
