Christophe Borbiconi (born February 26, 1973 in Metz ) is a former French football player and current coach. His best time as a footballer was with the Luxembourg club F91 Dudelange . He was active there from 2004 to the end of his career in 2009 and won four championship titles and three cup wins.

Career as a player

He started his career in 1992 at AS Nancy . Three years later he left his hometown club and then went to CS Louhans-Cuiseaux . In the 1998/99 season he played on loan at CS Sedan . Borbiconi reached the final of the Coupe de France 1998/99 with the club from the Ardennes . There they lost 1-0 to FC Nantes . Borbiconi was substituted on for Eric Crosnier after 77 minutes.

In 2000 he left Louhans-Cuiseaux and played for AS Beauvais . However, he left this after only a year. After guest appearances at Olympique Nîmes (2001–2002) and Olympique Alès (2002–2004), he then went to Luxembourg to play for F91 Dudelange . In his first year he also won the championship.

In the following season he also played in qualifying for the 2005/06 UEFA Champions League . In the first qualifying round they caused a big surprise when the favored Bosnian first division club HSK Zrinjski Mostar could be eliminated. In the second qualifying round, however, they failed at the Austrian champions Rapid Vienna . In the following four years he also won the Luxembourg championship. 2006, 2007 and 2009 also the Luxembourg Cup. In 2009 Borbiconi ended his career.

Career as a coach

From 2009 to 2012 he coached the French club FC Thionville .
