Life

Christophe Lambert was born in Fontenay-sous-Bois in the north of France in 1964.

After studying political science in Montreal, Canada, he began a career in the advertising industry like his father . He has worked at Publicis , BDDP , Opera RLC and Euro RSCG Paris , among others . In 2003 he became Managing Director of Publicis Conseil, where he became a close associate of Publicis CEO Maurice Lévy .

In 2010 he moved to Luc Besson's film production company EuropaCorp , where he acted as the company's CEO. Lambert was a co-owner of EuropaCorp and held 9.9% of the shares, which had a market value of around EUR 13 million. Between 2013 and 2015 Lambert also acted as a producer or co-producer of some films. In December 2015 he completed the film financing of Luc Besson's next directorial project Valerian - The City of a Thousand Planets , which with a budget of almost 200 million EUR was the most expensive French film project to date.

Shortly thereafter, in February 2016, he surprisingly announced his retirement from the post of EuropaCorp CEO. Marc Shmuger was his successor . Although Lambert emphasized that the withdrawal was voluntary, industry insiders speculated about a possible termination by the company. Lambert died on May 13, 2016 at the age of 51 from complications from lung cancer in a Marseille hospital.

From 1987 to 1989 he was married to Anne-Marie Cahier. In his second marriage he was married to the advertising manager Marie-Catherine Dupuy since 1991. The marriage produced a daughter. After divorcing Dupuy, he married the bullfighter Marie Sara . From this third marriage, which lasted until Lambert's death, two more children were born.
