Christophe Villa

Christophe Villa (* 1980 in France ) is a French opera and concert singer ( countertenor ).

Life

He received singing and directing training at the Conservatoire National de Région Pierre Barbizet in Marseille and completed his singing training at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy with Renate Faltin from 2004 to 2010 . In addition to his studies, he attended various master classes, among others with Magreet Honig, Håkan Hagegård , Júlia Várady , Andrew Watts, Gerd Uecker , with which he was able to further qualify.

In 2005 he made his debut in Germany in a co-production of the Komische Oper Berlin and the Berlin University of the Arts in Giacomo Carissimi's oratorio Historia di Jephte . In February 2007 he could be heard as Tolomeo in Georg Friedrich Handel's opera Giulio Cesare , a joint production by the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin and the Berlin University of the Arts.

This was followed by numerous appearances as Medoro in Georg Friedrich Händel's Orlando at the Neukölln Opera from September to November 2007 ; In July 2008 he performed on the occasion of the Classic Open Air in Berlin on Gendarmenmarkt for the night of 1000 voices . He also sang the leading role of Nerone in a production of L'incoronazione di Poppea by Claudio Monteverdi under the direction of Wolfgang Katschner , Lautten Compagney Berlin. Another appearance took place in Carmina Burana by Carl Orff in the Berlin Philharmonic , where he sang the role of the swan.
