Wolfgang Katschner

Wolfgang Katschner (* 1961 in Kyritz ) is a German lutenist and conductor .

Live and act

Wolfgang Katschner studied classical guitar at the "Hanns Eisler" University of Music in Berlin and lute at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts .

He is artistic director of the Lautten Compagney instrumental ensemble and the Capella Angelica vocal ensemble in Berlin, which specialize in baroque and early music . The Lautten Compagney founded Katschner 1984 together with the lutenist Hans-Werner Apel. The Capella Angelica has been accompanying the Lautten Compagney since 2002 .

From 2012 to 2016 Katschner was musical director of the Winter Baroque Festival in Schwetzingen .
