Christopher Coletti

Christopher "Chris" Coletti is an American trumpeter and arranger .

Life

Christopher Coletti began playing the trumpet in the fourth grade. Originally he wanted to learn the clarinet , but his hands were too small and there were too many clarinets and too few trumpets in the school orchestra . So his teacher suggested the trumpet to him.

Coletti received his bachelor's degree from the Manhattan School of Music in just three years and then his master's degree from the Juilliard School in New York City . During his studies, he won several awards and grants , including the Music Academy of the West Chamber Concerto Competition , the Manhattan School of Music Concerto Competition , the LaGuardia Arts Concerto Competition , the Staten Island Symphony Concerto Competition , The Tanglewood Music Center Charles E. Culpeper Foundation Fellowship and Susan B. Kaplan Fellowship , the The Juilliard School Frieda and Harry Aronson Scholarship, and the Manhattan School of Music President Scholarship .

In 2008 he received his first professional position as principal trumpeter with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra in Alabama . He has been a member of Canadian Brass since 2009 .

Coletti is an Assistant Professor at the Ithaca College School of Music in Ithaca and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music in New York City. He has also given master classes at conservatories around the world.

Coletti has already performed with a number of well-known musicians, including Yefim Bronfman , Pierre Boulez , Michael Tilson Thomas and Riccardo Muti , but also with non-classical artists such as Quincy Jones , Carlos Santana , Gloria Estefan or Miami Sound Machine . Coletti's articles have been published in several journals.
