Christy Prior (born November 28, 1988 in Okehampton , United Kingdom ) is a New Zealand snowboarder . She starts in the discipline of slopestyle and big air .

Career

Prior has been participating in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour competitions since 2012 . In February 2012 she won her first win at the Billabong Flaunt It in Lake Louise . At the beginning of the 2012/13 season, she won the Billabong Bro Down in the Snow Park and finished second at the Burton High Fives . She drove her first FIS World Cup race in March 2013 in Špindlerův Mlýn , which she finished in 11th place in slopestyle. At the end of the season, she reached second place in the Slopestyle at the Community Cup in Breckenridge and finished the season in fourth place in the Tour Slopestyle classification. In January 2014 she won the Snowboard Jamboree and FIS World Cup races in Stoneham . In her first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 , she achieved 21st place in slopestyle. In April 2014, she won the Keystone Community Cup . At the beginning of the 2014/15 season, she came second in the slopestyle at The Mile High in Perisher Blue . This was followed by third places at the Burton High Fives in Cardrona and at the Dew Tour Mountain Championships in Breckenridge . In January 2015 she won bronze in slopestyle at the Winter X Games 2015 in Aspen . A week later she won the Burton European Open in Laax . In January 2016, she finished second in slopestyle at the Laax Open in Laax and fifth in slopestyle at the 2016 Winter X-Games in Aspen . The following month she took third place in the Slopestyle at the World Cup in Bokwang Phoenix Park in Pyeongchang and a week later she won the silver medal in Big Air at the X-Games Oslo 2016 in Oslo . In the 2017/18 season she reached third place in Big Air in Mönchengladbach and first place in Slopestyle in Snowmass , 16th place in the Freestyle World Cup and fifth place in the Slopestyle World Cup. At the Winter X Games 2018 , she finished fifth in Big Air and fourth in Slopestyle.
