Chromium (V) fluoride is polymeric in the solid phase in the form of cis-linked CrF 6 octahedra; in the gas phase it is monomeric in the form of trigonal-bipyramidal molecules. The crystal structure is orthorhombic , space group Pbcm (space group no. 57) , with the lattice parameters a = 7.829 Å , b = 7.534 Å and c = 5.518 Å.
