Extraction and presentation

Chromium (II) bromide can be obtained by reducing chromium (III) bromide with hydrogen .

It is also possible to produce it by reacting chromium (II) acetate with hydrogen bromide .

Chromium (II) bromide is a white solid that is soluble in air-free water with a blue color. It oxidizes quickly in air. The melt turns yellow. The compound has a monoclinic crystal structure with the space group C 2 / m (space group no. 12) of the distorted cadmium (II) iodide type. Template: room group / 12
