Charles David "Chuck" Todd (born April 8, 1972 in Miami , Florida ) is an American journalist and television presenter . He is currently the political director of the news division of the largest US broadcaster, NBC , and the correspondent for his broadcaster in the White House .

Live and act

Todd was born in Miami to Lois Cheri (née Bernstein) and Stephen Randolph Todd. His parents raised him in the Jewish faith.

After attending school, Todd studied political science as a major and music minor at George Washington University from 1990 to 1994 , which he left without a degree. In the early 1990s he worked for various political campaigns, including the 1992 presidential campaign for Senator Tom Harkin .

From 1992 to March 2007, Todd served as the editor-in-chief of The Hotline , a daily political correspondence published by the Atlantic Media Company and aimed primarily at a small, non-public audience of congressmen, journalists, and others in the political and media business working people. In this capacity he often appeared as an expert on political television programs such as Inside Politics with Judy Woodruff or Hardball with Chris Matthews .

In March 2007, Todd was brought by Tim Russert to the television station NBC, where he soon took over the position of political director of the news department (NBC News) of the station. In this capacity, he is responsible for overseeing and coordinating political reporting for NBC and its cable branch, the 24-hour news channel MSNBC . As a White House reporter (since late 2008) and a general political analyst, Todd also appears regularly on NBC news and on various MSNBC programs. Since January 11, 2010, Todd and Savannah Guthrie have been moderating the program The Daily Rundown , which is broadcast on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time , in the morning program of MSNBC . loosened up by shorter boulevard elements, presented. Together with Sheldon Gawiser, Todd, who is listed as the fifth most influential journalist on US television by the American media analysis website Mediaite, also has the book How Barack Obama Won. A State-by-State Guide to the Historic 2008 Presidential Election .

Todd lives in Arlington , Virginia with his wife and daughter and son .

His reaction to Kellyanne Conway's expression “ alternative facts ” in a Meet the Press interview in March 2017 became famous : “Alternative facts are not facts, they are untruths ( falsehoods )”.

On October 17, 2016, the Daily Caller published an article depicting Todd's dinner party for Hillary Clinton's communications director, Jennifer Palmieri. This information came from the Podesta mails, which showed a close connection between journalists and politics.
