Chucrallah-Nabil El-Hage , also Shukrallah Nabil El Hajj , (born February 26, 1943 in Hajjé , Lebanon ) is the Maronite Archbishop of Tire .

Life

He was ordained a priest on June 13, 1970 and elected Archbishop of Tire in June 2003. After confirmation by the Holy See on 25 September 2003, the ordained him Patriarch of Antioch , Cardinal Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir and the co-consecrators Bishop Roland Aboujaoudé and his predecessor Archbishop Maroun Khoury Sader on 29 November 2003 for the bishop .

At the Special Assembly of the Synod of Bishops on the Middle East , the Archbishop took the view that Christians should not wage solitary struggle, but should live in solidarity with all citizens. He named the ADYAN Foundation as an example of how Christians and Muslims can live together. In many sermons and contributions, he has so far urged Lebanese Christians not to leave the country.
