Chun-Hsien Wu

Chun-Hsien Wu ( Chinese  吳俊憲 , Pinyin Wú Jùnxiàn , * 1967 in Pingtung , Taiwan ) is a Taiwanese dancer and choreographer .

biography

Chun-Hsien Wu studied ballet , modern dance , " Beijing Opera Movements " and Taijiquan (Tai Chi Chuan) at the National Institute of Art in Taipei with a diploma until 1992 . From 1994 to 2000 he then had an engagement at the " Cloud Gate Dance Theater " under the direction of Lin Hwai-min in Taipei. In 1998 he performed at the 25th stage anniversary of the Tanztheater Wuppertal under the direction of the choreographer Pina Bausch, who died in 2009 .

He got to know the French dancer and choreographer Chrystel Guillebeaud during a guest appearance in Wuppertal and in 2000 founded the "Compagnie Double C" with her. He participated in numerous ballet performances as a dancer and also as a choreographer. B. in "We'll all go to heaven".

Awards

In 2005, Chun-Hsien Wu and Chrystel Guillebeaud received the von der Heydt Prize of the City of Wuppertal.
