The Ciemniak ( Czech / Slovak Temniak ) is a mountain on the Polish-Slovak border in the Western Tatras with 2096 meters in the massif of the Czerwone Wierchy .
Location and surroundings
The state border runs over the main ridge of the Tatra Mountains , on which the Ciemniak is located. North of the summit is the Dolina Kościeliska , specifically its hanging valley Dolina Pyszniańska .

Routes to the summit
The hiking trail to the Ciemniak leads along the main ridge of the Tatra Mountains and the Polish-Slovak border.
- ▬ The red ridge trail leads from the Dolina Kościeliska valleyover the summit to the High Tatras .
- ▬ A green marked hiking trail leads from the Ornak hut to the Chuda Przełączka mountain passand on to the top.
The Ornak Hut , Kondratowa Hut and Chochołowska Hut are suitable starting points for climbing out of the valleys .
