The Chochołowska Hut ( Polish Schronisko PTTK na Polanie Chochołowskiej ) lies at an altitude of 1146 meters above sea level in Poland in the Western Tatras in the valley Dolina Chochołowska on the pasture Polana Chochołowska . With 121 beds, the hut is the largest shelter in the Polish Tatras . The area belongs to the Kościelisko municipality .

history

The hut was built in 1953 in place of the hut of the Warsaw Ski Association that was destroyed in World War II . The hut has been in the Tatra National Park since 1954 . In 1983 Pope John Paul II visited the hut. It is owned by the PTTK .
