The Ornak Hut ( Polish Schronisko PTTK na Hali Ornak ) lies at an altitude of 1100 meters in Poland in the Western Tatras in the valley Kościeliska on the pasture Mała Polanka Ornaczańska that are part of the eponymous Hala Ornak is. With 49 beds, the hut is one of the smaller shelters in the Polish Tatras . The area belongs to the Kościelisko municipality .
history
The hut was built in 1948 in place of the Pyszna hut ( pl. Schroniska na Hali Pysznej ) destroyed in World War II . It was named after Walery Goetel . The hut has been in the Tatra National Park since 1954 . It is owned by the PTTK .

The hut can be reached:
- ▬ from the Kościelisko district of Kiry via a green hiking trail over the Dolina Kościeliska
- ▬ on a green marked hiking trail over the Dolina Kościeliska in the valley Dolina Tomanowa to Rozdroże w Tomanowej on the mountain pass Chuda Przełączka and Ciemniak to the summit Czerwone Wierchy
- ▬ via a yellow-marked hiking trail over the Wielka Polana Ornaczańska and the Dolinka Iwanowska valleyto the Iwaniacka Przełęcz mountain pass
- ▬ via a black marked hiking trail to the mountain lake Smreczyński Staw
Horse-drawn carriages and sleighs run from Kiry to the hut.
