The glacial formed by glacial Dolina Starorobociańska is a valley in the Polish West Tatra in the Lesser Poland . It is located in the municipality of Kościelisko in the powiat Tatrzański .
geography
The valley is a side valley of the main valley Dolina Chochołowska and is surrounded by mountains up to 2064 meters high. a. the Wołowiec . The rock walls in the valley are made of limestone.

etymology
The name can be translated as "Upper Chochołów Valley". The name comes from the place Chochołów .
Flora and fauna
The valley lies above and below the tree line and is covered with mountain pines in the upper area and coniferous forest in the lower area. The valley is a retreat for numerous mammals and bird species.

There is a high mountain climate in the valley.
Alpine farming
Before the Tatra National Park was established in 1954, the valley was used for alpine farming. After that, the owners of the alpine pastures were expropriated or forced to sell. The largest alpine pasture in the valley was the Polana Chochołowska Wyżnia . There are still old alpine huts in the valley. In 1944 and 1945, resistance fighters used them as shelter.
