Witów is a village in the rural municipality of Kościelisko in the powiat Tatrzański in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in southern Poland in the historical Podhale region . It is located on Voivodeship Road 958 and borders the Tatra National Park to the south . The village lies in Vortatragraben and in the mountain ranges of the Western Tatras , Pogórze Gubałowskie and Orawicko-Witowskie Wierchy about five kilometers west of Zakopane and two kilometers west of Kościelisko. It is a ski resort at the foot of the High Tatras with a large ski area and several smaller ski lifts. The Czarny Dunajec river begins in the village through the confluence of the Siwa Woda and Kirowa Woda mountain streams .

Attractions

In the village there is a brick church of St. Mary and a wooden church of St. Anne in Zakopane style from the beginning of the 20th century. The place is part of the Western Tatras , in particular the Dolina Lejowa and Dolina Chochołowska valleys are located in the municipality. In the municipality are also the highest peaks of the Polish Western Tatras , including the Starorobociański Wierch , and the Pogórze Spisko-Gubałowskie , including Magura Witowska and Przysłop Witowski .
