CI Games SA (formerly City Interactive SA ) is a Polish video game developer and publisher based in Warsaw . CI Games was founded in 2002 and was originally a low-cost games company. It is best known for the series Sniper: Ghost Warrior and Lords of the Fallen .

history

City Interactive was founded in 2002 by the merger of three video game companies: Lemon Interactive, We Open Eyes and Tatanka. The company originally worked as a developer and publisher of budget games. In 2007 City Interactive merged with Oni Games, a third party company that was co-founded with City Interactive in 2002, and Detalion, an adventure game developer founded by Roland Pantoła, Maciej Miąsik, Danuta Sienkowska, Robert Ożóg, Łukasz Pisarek and Krzysztof Bar Sie left LK Avalon. Also in 2007, led City Interactive 's IPO by becoming one of the Warsaw Stock Exchange -listed stock corporation .

In 2008 City Interactive stopped its budget activities, which they wanted to underline with the subsequent release of Sniper: Ghost Warrior in 2010. In an interview with MCV magazine , the company stated that the success of the game led them to believe they had made the right decisions about strategy and product portfolio. Until June 2011 City Interactive employed a total of 150 people at its headquarters in Warsaw , in the development studios in Rzeszów , Katowice , Poznan and Guildford as well as in the publishing offices in Germany , Great Britain , Canada and the USA . In 2012 City Interactive's development team adopted the name " CI Games " and City Interactive changed its name entirely to CI Games in 2013 .

In February 2018, CI Games reduced its development staff to 30 employees. According to CEO Marek Tymiński, the action was taken because there were many problems in the production of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 , although the game itself had already sold more than a million copies and a profit for the 2017 fiscal year when the decision was made the company had generated.

In January 2019, CI Games founded United Label, a new publishing label for independent games. United Label helps fund indie developers in exchange for a share of game revenues.
