City of Matlosana ( English City of Matlosana Local Municipality ) is a South African local municipality in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda district of the Northwest Province . The seat of the municipality is in Klerksdorp .

The community is named after a historical expression for "forcibly displaced people".

The African National Congress has a majority on the local council.

In 2011 the community had 398,676 inhabitants. 81% of them were black, 14.5% white, 3.5% colored and 0.8% Indian or Asian.

36% of the first language was Setswana , 19.9% Sesotho , 17.3% Afrikaans, 14% IsiXhosa , 4.3% English, 2.1% isiZulu , 1.2% Xitsonga and 0 each , 6% isiNdebele and Sepedi .
