Clément Halet (born May 21, 1984 in Strasbourg ) is a former French football player . The defender has played a large part of his career so far in Germany.

Career

Beginning in France

Halet started his career at Racing Strasbourg ; In 2003 he moved to Stade Lavallois .

Change to 1. FC Saarbrücken

From the third class national (D3) he moved in 2005 to the then German second division club 1. FC Saarbrücken . He made his competitive debut for the Saarlanders on September 21, 2005 on the sixth match day in the game against Erzgebirge Aue , in which he was substituted on for Marco Laping at the beginning of the second half . In the course of the season Halet became an integral part of the Saarbrücken defense; in the 2005/06 season Halet completed a total of 21 games. On December 4, 2005 Halet gave his first assist for the club from the Saarland capital : In the 3-2 win over Kickers Offenbach on matchday 15, Halet gave the template for the 1: 2 goal. He could not prevent relegation to the then third-class regional league . However, he remained loyal to Saarbrücken and went with him to the regional league. In the 2006/07 season, Halet completed 26 regional league games. In the end he was relegated to the then fourth-class Oberliga Südwest . Here, too, he remained loyal to the club. After a cruciate ligament tear , however, he missed most of the league playing time. The missed re-promotion was also a descent into the fifth division; the league was downgraded to the fifth highest division. In the 2008/09 season Halet completed another game in the major league for Saarbrücken (against the second team of SV Elversberg ).

Fortuna Dusseldorf

In August 2008, Halet moved on to third division Fortuna Düsseldorf , with his one-year contract being financed by a sponsor. In the Rhineland he was first used in the second team before making his debut for the professional team. He made his debut on matchday seven in a 1-0 win against Erzgebirge Aue in the starting eleven and played over 90 minutes. It was his first professional game in two years. During the season he established himself in the defense of the Düsseldorf team and made 25 third division appearances. At the end of the season he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga with the club. However, the club did not extend Halet's expiring contract.

VfR Aalen

On December 11, 2009, VfR Aalen Halet signed from January 1, 2010. He received a half-year contract there until June 30, 2010, but did not play a game for the first team. In the end, the VfR rose to the 3rd division, Halet left the club.

Prussia Munster

For the 2010/11 season Halet moved back to the Regionalliga and signed a contract with Preußen Münster until June 2011. He made his debut for the Münsterländer on August 6, 2010 on the 1st match day in a 1-1 draw against Wuppertaler SV in the starting eleven. On the third matchday (August 27, 2010) in a 3-1 win against Eintracht Trier , Halet scored his first goal for Preußen Münster with the goal to make it 1-0. On the 10th matchday in the 2-0 win against SC Wiedenbrück, he suffered a broken collarbone and fell out for the rest of the first half of the season, but the club extended his contract early in December 2010 to June 2012. On February 12, 2011, he completed in Game against Eintracht Trier (20th matchday) made his comeback. At the end of the season he rose to the third division with Preußen Münster; for Halet this was the third promotion to the third division with three clubs within two years.

Halet suffered cardiac arrest on August 24, 2013 after a foul on the field , but was resuscitated by his teammates. He was immediately taken to a hospital, which he left a day later.

In summer 2014 he left Münster and moved to fourth-class FC 08 Homburg in the Regionalliga Südwest . In mid-January 2016, Halet finally ended his career with former Bundesliga club FC 08 Homburg due to numerous injuries. Most recently he suffered from a torn cruciate ligament, which he suffered in a cup game against SV 07 Elversberg.
