Auguste Clara Blüthgen , née Kilburger , divorced Eysell , (born May 25, 1856 in Halberstadt , † January 24, 1934 in Berlin ) was a German writer .

Life

Blüthgen was born as the only child of the factory owner Friedrich Kilburger. She received a careful upbringing and in 1875 married a Dr. A. Eysell. The marriage ended in divorce after a year and a half. From 1879 Blüthgen worked as a painter, interrupted by illness, and trained as a portrait painter at the Royal Art School in Berlin and in the studio of Gottlieb Biermann (1824–1908) and in the studios of Otto Kirberg and Ferdinand Brütt in Düsseldorf . When a humorous travelogue from her pen was published around 1890 and received a positive response, she devoted herself more to writing and published her own works as well as articles in newspapers and magazines. She worked for almost three years in Berlin, where she moved in 1897, in the editorial team of the Illustrierte Frauenzeitung and the Modenwelt . An illness forced her to quit work.

In 1898 she married the poet Victor Blüthgen , with whom she moved to Freienwalde on the Oder . Her husband died in 1920 and was buried there. Blüthgen, who died in Berlin in 1934, also found her final resting place in Freienwalde.
