Clarence Oliver Gamble (born August 16, 1881 in St. Louis , Missouri , † June 13, 1952 ) was an American tennis player .
At the 1904 Summer Olympics in his hometown of St. Louis , Clarence Gamble and his compatriot Arthur Wear won the bronze medal in the men's doubles of the tennis competition , after they were defeated in the semifinals by the later Olympic champions Edgar Leonard and Beals Wright with 1: 6 and 2: 6. A game for 3rd place was not played.
Gamble was more of a sports all-rounder than a pure tennis player. He played American football, baseball, and golf at Washington University , which he attended. Later in life, Gamble became a successful stockbroker and worked for the same company as his twin partner Arthur Wear .
