geography
The settlement is three kilometers southwest of downtown Milton at the junction of New Zealand State Highway 8 from New Zealand State Highway 1 .
history
Until 1968, the settlement was also a railway junction, where the Roxburgh Branch branched off from the South Island Main Trunk Railway .
