geography

The settlement is three kilometers southwest of downtown Milton at the junction of New Zealand State Highway 8 from New Zealand State Highway 1 .

history

Until 1968, the settlement was also a railway junction, where the Roxburgh Branch branched off from the South Island Main Trunk Railway . In 1907 a 2.8 km line was built parallel to the main line to Milton to improve rail operations. Until this section was closed on September 19, 1960, the connection point was Milton rather than Clarksville .
