The Classiculaceae are a family of the mushrooms (Basidiomycota), which are placed in their own order Classiculales and Class Classiculomycetes . It consists of two species found in freshwater.

Features and way of life

Of the other members of the Pucciniomycotina differs Classicula that the sterigmata ( "stems", where the basidiospores sitting) are swollen below their end. The conidia of both species are boat-shaped and consist of three to four distal, bristly branches. The septal pores consist of a simple pore that is circularly surrounded by microbodies .

Both types have haustoria of the tremeloid type. It is therefore believed that they live as fungal parasites. In Classicula Selbstparasitismus was observed. The two species are found in fresh water.

Systematics

The Classiculomycetes are the sister group of the Microbotryomycetes within the Pucciniomycotina . The Classiculomycetes comprise only one order with one family and two species:
