Claudia Preuss-Boehart

Claudia Preuß-Boehart (born Claudia Preuß ; born September 1, 1951 in Fleestedt ) is a German lawyer and politician ( SPD ).

Life

Claudia Preuss-Boehart graduated from high school in Ratzeburg in 1969 and studied law at the University of Hamburg , the Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg and the University of Geneva . She studied political science as a minor . She completed her legal traineeship in Hamburg and a post in the USA. In 1980 she passed the second state examination in law and worked as a lawyer. In 1981 she established herself as an independent lawyer and was licensed as a notary in 1984 . In 1989 she joined the SPD and in 1990 was elected to the executive board of the Duchy of Lauenburg , from 1994 to 2007 she was chairwoman.

In 1992 she won the direct mandate for the Landtag of Schleswig-Holstein in the Lauenburg-Mitte constituency . She was a member of the submission committee, the environment committee and the home and legal committee. From 1993 to 1995 she was a member of the first committee of inquiry of the 13th electoral term , which investigated the so-called drawer affair as a result of the Barschel affair of 1987. In it she represented a critical stance towards Günther Jansen . According to observers, she paid for “her honesty” “with her political career”. She was also a member of the judges' election committee and took part in the 10th Federal Assembly in 1994 .

After leaving parliament, she returned to her profession as a lawyer and notary and runs a law firm in Ratzeburg with a partner.

Claudia Preuß-Boehart is a member of the German Lawyers Association and the German Association of Women Lawyers . She is married and has a daughter.
