Claudio Flores , full name Claudio Sebastián Flores Banegas , (born May 10, 1976 in Nueva Palmira ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

The 1.85 meter tall goalkeeper Flores was a member of Club Atlético Peñarol from 1995 to 2000 . During this time, the "Aurinegros" won the Uruguayan championship four times in the Primera División in 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1999 . He then played from 2000 to 2004 for the Argentine club CA Lanús . This was followed by a career station in Paraguay at Club Libertad in 2005 . He then returned to Peñarol that same year and was active there until 2006. Again that year he joined the CA Lanús. He returned from the Argentines to Uruguay at the end of July 2008 and continued his career with Bella Vista until the following year . In the 2008/09 season there was also a commitment to Club Atlético Rentistas , where he scored a goal of the season. From 2010 to 2011 he is listed as a player for Deportivo Italiano . Other sources report, however, that Flores Rentistas only left in mid-2011 for Junín and the Club Atlético Sarmiento , which is based there . He played for Sarmiento until the beginning of July 2012 and then joined the Club Atlético Platense . There he was used in 73 games of the Primera B Metropolitana and at least one encounter (no goal) of the Copa Argentina . At the end of February 2015 he returned to Uruguay and played four times in the 2015 Clausura for the Club Sportivo Cerrito in the Segunda División . At the beginning of July 2015 he moved to the Primera C Metropolitana for the Cañuelas Fútbol Club . According to the club's president Daniel Roncoli, the contractual relationship was designed for one year. At the end of September 2015, Flores canceled the contract and left the club.

National team

Flores made his debut on 13 December 1997 in the 2-0 win in the 1997 FIFA Confederations Cup against Saudi Arabia's selection under the debut national coach Víctor Púa with a starting eleven in the Uruguayan senior team . He was also on the pitch in tournaments with the Czech Republic and Australia . His last of a total of four international matches, he completed on December 21, 1997 when he met the Czech Republic again in the Confederations Cup, when Uruguay lost 1-0 in the game for third place.
