Claus-Achim Eschke

Claus-Achim Eschke (born December 5, 1931 in Ratzeburg , † January 12, 2013 in Lübeck ) was a German shipowner and honorary consul .

Life

After attending school in Lübeck, Eschke trained as a shipping clerk at Poseidon Schiffahrt AG , later Finnlines Deutschland AG, from 1952 . In 1959 he became an authorized signatory , later managing director and chairman of the board of the company.

He expanded the company's Finland traffic and campaigned for the expansion of the Lübeck port facilities, in particular the Nordlandkai in Lübeck and the Skandinavienkai in Travemünde .

Eschke was a founding member and from 1989 to 1991 President of the German-Finnish Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the German-Finnish Association, a member of the Lübeck Ship Brokers and Ship Agents Association and the Lübeck Seaport Companies. From 1975 to 1997 he was vice-president and member of the executive committee of the Lübeck Chamber of Commerce and Industry .
