Clemens Horstmann (born March 3, 1892 in Wettringen ; † February 11, 1981 in Neuenkirchen ) was a German farmer and politician ( center , CDU ).

Life and work

After attending primary school , he completed the rural vocational school and the agricultural school . As a self-employed farmer , he worked on his farm in Neuenkirchen / Offlum . From 1945 to 1948 he was district farmer and from 1947 to 1949 chairman of the agricultural district association, member of the Chamber of Agriculture and district farmer of the Steinfurt district .

politics

Horstmann was a member and board member of the Center Party until 1933. After the Second World War he was one of the founders of the CDP in the Steinfurt district and was a registered member there from November 6, 1945. The CDP was renamed CDU in 1946, where he was a board member at local and district level. From May 7, 1961 to February 13, 1965, Horstmann led the CDU as district chairman, after which he was elected honorary chairman.

MP

By order of the British military government on June 26, 1945, Clemens Horstmann was appointed to the five-member council of Neuenkirchen. From 1945 to 1948 he was a community representative in Neuenkirchen, from 1945 a district advisory council and from 1946 to 1952 a district council member in the Steinfurt district.

He was a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament from July 5, 1950 to July 23, 1966. In the 2nd , 3rd , 4th and 5th electoral periods he was the directly elected member of constituency 81 Steinfurt-Süd. His predecessor in constituency 81 was Bernhard Jägermann . For the 6th electoral period, the constituencies were redistributed.

Honors

In recognition of his services, Clemens Horstmann was awarded the golden chamber plaque and the silver Schorlemer plaque .
