Clifford Jackaman

Clifford Thomas Jackaman , OBE ( 1906 - 1966 ) was a British Brigadier General ( Air Commodore ) in the Royal Air Force (RAF).

Life

After attending school in September 1920, Jackaman began vocational training at the Electrical and Wireless School at the Flowerdown military base . He was then taken over in 1923 as an Aircraftman in the RAF and went through the team career as Senior Aircraftman and Lance Corporal . This was followed by assignments as corporal , sergeant and flight sergeant in the sergeant's career, in which on April 26, 1938 he was Warrant Officer in No. 80 Squadron RAF was. On June 12, 1939, he switched to the officer career of the telecommunications force and was promoted to first lieutenant (flying officer) on August 10, 1940 . As such, he found between September 12, 1940 and July 15, 1943 use as a communications officer in the headquarters of the Air Force in the Middle East (RAF Middle East) and was promoted there on August 10, 1942 to captain (flight lieutenant) , which promotion was dated back to June 12, 1942.

On July 15, 1943, he became a communications officer at the headquarters of No. 13 Group RAF as well as on November 2, 1943 telecommunications officer at the headquarters of No. 12 Group RAF . On October 1, 1946 he was promoted to Major (Squadron Leader) , this promotion being dated back to June 1, 1945 on February 25, 1947. After his promotion to Lieutenant Colonel (Wing Commander) on July 1, 1947, he became a staff officer in the radio department of the Air Force Staff and on December 3, 1948 a staff officer for communications planning at the headquarters of the Air Forces Western Europe . On January 1, 1951, he was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).

Jackaman, who on July 1, 1955 Colonel (Group Captain) was promoted, was on 21 February 1957 and the 14 November 1960 staff officer in the telecommunications division of the headquarters of the Allied air forces of NATO in Central Europe AAFCE ( Allied Air Forces Central Europe ) . He was promoted to Brigadier General ( Air Commodore ) on July 1, 1960 and was most recently Chief Technical Staff Officer STSO (Senior Technical Staff Officer) at the headquarters of the Air Force in Germany ( RAF Germany ) between November 14, 1960 and January 1, 1963 .
