Climie Fisher
Climie Fisher was a British pop duo consisting of Simon Climie (* 1960) and Rob Fisher (* 1956/1959, † 1999).
Career
Simon Climie began his musical career as a lyricist for Leo Sayer and Roger Daltrey . He worked on Frida 's second solo album and was co-author of the song Invincible , with which Pat Benatar reached number 8 on the US charts in the summer of 1985 . He wrote other songs z. B. for Smokey Robinson and Jeff Beck . He also made I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me) , which became a huge hit with Aretha Franklin and George Michael in early 1987 .
Rob Fisher played in different groups and finally in 1982 with Naked Eyes . However, since there was no major success, he then worked as a studio musician. This is where he met Climie. The similarities between the two keyboard players quickly became apparent and the duo Climie Fisher was founded.
They became known through the hit single Love Changes (Everything) , which reached number 2 in the British charts in the fall of 1987 . The song didn't make it into the higher chart regions in England at first. It was only when it rose to number 7 in the charts in Germany that it also became a top 10 hit in the UK. Another successful title was Rise to the Occasion , which reached number 10 on the British charts. Together, Climie and Fisher released the albums Everything (1988) and Coming in for the Kill (1989).
Rob Fisher died of colon cancer in August 1999 after a long battle. Simon Climie works today as a songwriter, among others with Eternal and Eric Clapton .
