Simon Crispin Climie (born April 7, 1960 , in Fulham , London ) is a British pop musician, songwriter and former singer of the 1980s pop duo Climie Fisher . His collaboration with Eric Clapton made him even better known on albums such as Pilgrim , Reptile , Riding with the King (Eric Clapton and B. B. King ) and Retail Therapy under TDF Climie wrote I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me) , among others , the number one -Hit from Aretha Franklin and George Michael .

Life

After the last Climie Fisher album Coming in for the Kill and the departure of EMI in 1990, Climie signed a contract as a solo artist with Sony's Columbia Records and released the album Soul Inspiration in late 1992 . Unlike his previous hits with Rob Fisher , neither the album nor the single reached the corresponding UK top 40 rankings .

So Climie decided to continue as a producer . He produced albums and wrote songs for a number of 1990s pop artists such as Louise Redknapp and MN8 . In the late 1990s, he worked as a producer and co-writer for Eric Clapton . He also played keyboard on his album Pilgrim .

The most recent collaboration with Clapton is the album The Road to Escondido , a feature with J. J. Cale . He also produced the live album Royal Albert Hall London May 2-3-5-6 2005 by Cream and worked with former Doobie Brothers -member Michael McDonald at the Motown albums are.
