The Club der Visionaere (often abbreviated to CdV ) is a techno club in Berlin .

The Club of Visionaere is located on the border of the Berlin districts Alt-Treptow and Kreuzberg , right on Flutgraben the Landwehr canal just before the junction with the River Spree . The exact time of the opening is unknown, but dates back to at least the turn of the millennium. According to the operator, private parties started out. The club's internet domain was registered in 2002. In 2004 a party took place as part of the Premium fashion fair , a forerunner of Berlin Fashion Week , in the CdV. The current operating company Fish Club GmbH has existed since 2005 at the latest, and a Facebook page with over 100,000 likes has existed since 2010 . In 2011, Gregor Krämer, managing director of the Betriebs-GmbH, took part in the Kater Holzig @ Papaya Playa project , which received broad media coverage.

In contrast to many other techno clubs in Berlin, the Visionaere club closes completely in winter, but the facility is open daily during the season and from the afternoon onwards. In terms of music, minimal techno dominates, as opposed to other clubs . Well-known DJs who have played in the past are, for example, Richie Hawtin or Ricardo Villalobos . There is only one floor from which the partially uncovered outdoor area directly on the water can be used. Also in contrast to many other techno clubs, the company boss publicly recognizes the importance of so-called party tourists .

The club has been featured in national and international coverage for years, including USA Today . In 2009 it was ranked 63rd among the best clubs in the world in DJ Magazine . In the user ranking of the Internet portal for electronic music Resident Advisor , the club is rated as one of the twelve most popular in Berlin (as of September 2015).

fire

On June 15, 2019, a fire broke out in a wooden extension of the club. While the club was almost completely destroyed according to an initial Twitter message from the fire brigade, the operators contradicted this representation and stated that only a small part of the open-air area was affected. The fire brigade spoke of three slightly injured, but the police said no one had been injured. After the fire, a discussion about fire protection in discos began.
