Cobalto is a Brazilian thrash metal band from Salvador da Bahia that was formed in 1999.

history

The band was formed in 1999. The band released two demos in the following years, whereby the band was able to attract increased attention , especially through the second demo Mindiversity . A tour of Brazil followed with Shaman , Necromancia , Torture Squad , Ratos de Porão and Claustrofobia . After drummer Jera Cravo left the band and was replaced by Louis Bear, the band recorded their debut album Elemental , which was produced, mixed and mastered by Jera Cravo . The album was released by Atalho Discos in mid-2005 . The band then went on a one-year European tour and played in Finland , Germany , Belgium and the Czech Republic . It was also Elemental in Europe through the Finnish label Forkwork Music published. In 2006 the band played at the Masters of Rock in the Czech Republic together with Whitesnake , Kreator , Apocalyptica , Masterplan and The Gathering . After the band returned to Brazil, singer Jan left the band. In the following months, the band wrote new material and looked for a suitable singer, who was eventually found in Viktor Lemoz. The recordings for the second album Metamorphic followed . The album was again produced by Jera Cravo. Metamorphic was released in Brazil through Torto Fono Gramas in September 2008.
