The Codex Athous Laurensis ( Gregory-Aland no. 045 or Ω; von Soden ε 61) is a Greek manuscript of the New Testament . It was dated to the 9th century by paleography . The manuscript is not completely preserved, but contains the four Gospels.

The manuscript consists almost of the four Gospels on 259 thick sheets of parchment with a gap (Luke 1: 15–28). It has a format of 22 × 16 cm. The text is in two columns with 19–22 lines and 13–15 letters per line. The codex also contains accents, spiritus asper , lenis and pictures. The letters are big, the ink is brown, and the letters at the beginning of the paragraph are red.

The Codex contains lists of the κεφαλαια, κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, Ammonian Sections (Mark 234), Eusebian Canon , Forms, Synaxarion , Menologion , Signatures, and στιχοι .

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Byzantine text type . It is assigned to category V. It is one of the best manuscripts of the Byzantine texts and belonged to Group E together with the Codex Basilensis and the Codex Nanianus .

According to Hermann von Soden , it is one of the three oldest manuscripts that represent the Byzantine text type.

The codex is kept in the Dionysiou Monastery (10) 55 on Athos .
