Cold Steel (Alternative title on television: Kalt wie Stahl ) is an American action thriller directed by Dorothy Ann Puzo from 1987 .

action

Johnny Modine is a Los Angeles police officer. His father is murdered in a shop around Christmas time. Modine looks for the perpetrator on her own. He meets Kathy Connors who helps him with further investigations.

The trail leads to Iceman, who used to be a police officer. Iceman kidnaps Connors, who frees herself and kills the kidnapper.

Reviews

Film-Dienst wrote that some action scenes were fast-paced, but that there were “ unnecessarily brutal interludes ”.

Critics differed as to whether directing a woman reduced the number and brutality of the scenes of violence or whether Dorothy Ann Puzo worked like a man in this regard.
