Colleen De Reuck

Colleen De Reuck (born: Colleen Stella Lindeque ; born April 13, 1964 in Vryheid , Kwazulu-Natal ) is an American long-distance runner of South African origin.

She competed in the marathon for South Africa at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and finished ninth. In 1995 she won the Honolulu Marathon and a year later the Berlin Marathon in her personal best of 2:26:35. In 1997, 1998 and 1999 she was placed in the top five three times in the Boston Marathon , twice in the Chicago Marathon and once in the New York City Marathon .

She received US citizenship on December 11, 2000. At the 2002 cross-country championships, she was third. She won the US elimination for the marathon of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens in 2:28:24 before Deena Kastor , but as in the 2000 Games in Sydney , when she was 31st, she was handicapped by a foot injury and only finished the 39th place.

In 2005 she finished fourth in the Chicago Marathon in 2:28:40. This time is the US record in the Masters category (over 40 years). In the same year she won the US championship in the 25 km road race with the Masters world record of 1:25:15.

She lives in Boulder, Colorado with her husband and trainer Darren De Reuck and their daughter Tasmin.
