The Collingwood River is a river in the southwest of the Australian state of Tasmania .

geography

River course

The river arises on the east side of the Victoria Pass , which is in the southwest corner of the Cradle Mountain Lake St. Clair National Park , at the confluence of the Patons River and the Balaclava River . From there it flows southeast along the Lyell Highway , passes under it east of the Collingwood Range and flows into the Franklin River about one kilometer north of Junction Peak .
