The Colorado Crush are an arena football team from Loveland, Colorado currently playing in the Indoor Football League (IFL). The Crush play their home games in the Budweiser Events Center .

history

The Crush was founded in 2006 as Colorado Ice . It wasn't until 2015 that the name was changed to Crush. The franchise joined United Indoor Football (UIF) in 2007 . After their merger with the Intense Football League , the Crush took part in the newly formed Indoor Football League (IFL) in 2009. In their history, Colorado made it into the playoffs six times, but they were denied a final appearance.

Incidentally, the Crush have nothing to do with the Colorado Crush , which were founded by John Elway in 2002 and played in the Arena Football League (AFL). These crushes were dissolved in 2008.

Seasons 2007-2008 (United Indoor Football)

The Crush (then called "Ice") joined the UIF in the 2007 season.

In the two seasons they were able to move into the playoffs once, but lost the division semi-final game against the eventual title winner Sioux Falls Storm with 16:44.

Season 2009 to today (Indoor Football League)

For the 2009 season, the Indoor Football League (IFL) was founded from the UIF, in which the Ice participated.

Up to the 2017 season they were able to reach the playoffs five times, but they could not reach the final. For the 2016 season, it was finally announced that the Ice would be renamed Crush.

At the end of the 2016 season, it was announced that the owner of the Crush wanted to sell the franchise. A buyer was found in Project FANchise, which already operates with the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles . With this variant of club management, the fans take on all the tasks that a general manager would otherwise perform, such as signing players and coaches.

The 2017 season ended the Crush with 3 wins and 13 defeats in last place in the Intense Conference and clearly missed the playoffs.

Stadion

The Crush play in the Budweiser Events Center, built in 2003, with space for 5,289 spectators. They share the stadium with the Colorado Eagles ice hockey team from the ECHL .
