Color Scream was an American new wave and indie rock band from Northern California. The band was formed in the late 1980s and included musicians Michael Long (guitar, vocals), Jeff Watson (bass), Asa Sanchez (keyboard) and Mark Long (drums).

history

Color Scream was a band from Campbell , a small town in Santa Clara County in the US state of California , the comprehensive with a variety of styles on a six pieces mini album Living and Dying in 1988 when independent label Whet Reign Records was released. A year later, a five-track maxi single called Dance No More was released . The mini-album released in 1988 and the maxi-single released in 1989 by this relatively short-lived American band combine the darkness of post-punk with the danceability of synthpop . The musical direction of the band, representing the song Across the Sky , has strong influences from various rock-pop and wave groups such as Cactus World News , A Flock of Seagulls , Then Jerico , The Outfield , Sideway Look or The Icicle Works , die stylistically mostly peaked in this era in the mid to late 1980s.

Concerts and live performances by the band Color Scream often took place in the San José area in the late 1980s . In 1992 the group broke up again.

Friends Jeff Watson and Michael Long, who both grew up in San José, founded the group Drill Team a few years later in Los Angeles together with Chris Etzler and Sowbug Lord, and in 1998 they brought the much rockier and heavier grunge album Hope and Dream Explosion to the band Reprise Records label out. The CD was produced by David Kahne, Alan Winstanley and Clive Langer .

Keyboardist Asa Sanchez later founded the San Francisco- based psychedelic rock and blues group Winter Teeth together with Heather Leveroni (vocals), Shane Bergman (guitar, vocals), Andy Headrick (percussion) and Cory Sklar (bass) . The band released the album Stories from the Fire in 2013 .
