Colusa is the county seat of Colusa County of the same name in the US state of California.

In 2019 the population was 6,060, which corresponds to an increase of more than 11% compared to the year 2000 with 5402 inhabitants. The median income for a household was $ 41,726, averaging $ 21,770 per capita. The latter is a decrease of about nine percent. The poverty rate is given as 17.0%. 58.3% of Colusa's residents are of Hispanic origin, and 36.7% are whites of non-Hispanic origin.
history
The name Colusas is derived from the misspelling of an Indian tribe west of the Sacramento River , the Coru . It was a peaceful tribe, but it died out. In 1868 Colusa officially became a city.

Exterior shots of the 1953 film The Girl Frankie were shot in Colusa. The 1970 film … tick… tick… tick… is supposed to take place in Colusa, although in the real Colusa the majority is not Afro-American , as in the film , but Hispanic .
