Coming Up for Air is the first music album by the US singer and songwriter Dan Reed .

Dan Reed was the singer of the Portland ( Oregon ) band Dan Reed Network in the 1980s . After the end of the band in 1992, Reed turned to other projects ("Adrenaline Sky" (1996-1998), "G-13" (1998-2000) and "Odyssey" (2000-2001)) and became a co-owner of a nightclub in Portland and withdrew more and more from commercial music. After the death of his father, Reed went to India , traveled to Asia and lived at times as a guest with Tibetan monks . He also met some Israeli musicians and in 2006 decided to move to Jerusalem . After living and working there for some time, and in particular making music, Dan Reed first returned to Portland to record his new CD.

For Coming Up for Air , in addition to typical instruments of pop music such as guitar , drums , bass and keyboard , violin and piano as well as some Asian instruments such as B. a Chinese harp is used.
