The Communauté de communes Val-de-Saône Chalaronne is a former French association of communes with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Département Ain , the administrative seat of which was in the town of Thoissey . The community association consisted of seven communities and had 8,567 inhabitants (as of 2013}) on an area of 93.5 km 2 . Muriel Luga-Giraud was most recently the president of the community association.
Historical development
The Association of Municipalities was founded on December 29, 1993, only about a year after the mechanisms provided for by the February 6, 1992 law came into force. At the beginning it comprised six member parishes, until 2002 the parish of Saint-Étienne-sur-Chalaronne was added . With effect from January 1, 2017, the community association was merged with the Communauté de communes Montmerle Trois Rivières to form the successor organization Communauté de communes Val de Saône Center .
tasks
The competencies required included the development and promotion of economic activities and tourism as well as spatial planning based on a Schéma de Cohérence Territoriale . The community association operated the road maintenance department, sewage disposal and garbage collection and disposal. In addition, the association built and maintained sports facilities.
