The Communauté de communes de la Montagne Noire is a French community association with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the Aude department of the Occitania region . It was founded on January 1, 2014 and comprises 23 parishes. The administrative headquarters are in Les Ilhes .

Historical development

The community association was created in 2014 through the merger of the predecessor organizations Communauté de communes du Cabardès Montagne Noire and Communauté de communes du Haut-Cabardès .

With effect from January 1, 2017, the municipality of Les Camazes ( Département Tarn ) moved to the Communauté de communes Lauragais Revel Sorèzois . This ended the previous crossing of the department by the member communities.
