Constantin H. Alsheimer

Constantin H. Alsheimer (born March 8, 1969 in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe ) is a German manager and has been CEO of the Frankfurt energy supplier Mainova since January 2009 .

Education and professional activity

After studying law in Frankfurt am Main and Mainz , the trained banker began working as a lawyer in the Structured Finance division at the Frankfurt investment bank Dresdner Kleinwort Benson . In 2000 he did his doctorate on the subject of "Legal nature of derivative financial instruments and their presentation in the annual financial statements" at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz as a doctor of law .

As head of the office of the city treasurer of the city of Frankfurt from 2000 to 2005, he was temporarily chairman of the supervisory board and the shareholders' meeting of DSM Deutsche Städt-Medien, which he privatized on behalf of 26 major German cities. From 2002 to mid-2006, he was also the managing director of the Nordweststadt waste incineration plant (AVA), which was commissioned to develop the plant into a modern waste-to-energy plant.

Alsheimer has been a member of the Mainova Management Board since January 2006 and has been its Chairman since January 2009. In April 2018, Alsheimer was confirmed in this position by the Mainova Supervisory Board until the end of 2023. He is responsible for the areas of finance, accounting and controlling, corporate strategy, processes, M&A and investment management, legal and compliance management, corporate communications and public affairs, board matters and corporate organization, internal auditing as well as asset networks and regulation.

In 2009 Alsheimer negotiated the purchase agreement to acquire the shares in Thüga from E.ON together with Herbert Dombrowsky ( N-ERGIE ), Michael Feist ( Stadtwerke Hannover ) and Thorsten Radensleben ( Badenova ) . The purchase of Thüga by the communal consortium received a lot of media attention. In 2010, Alsheimer, together with the other three negotiators, was given the annual “Energy Manager of the Year” award by the magazine “Energie & Management”.

From 2006 to 2017 he was a member of the management of Stadtwerke Frankfurt am Main Holding GmbH (SWFH), since 2008 its spokesman.

Private

Alsheimer, son of the Frankfurt university professor Herbert Alsheimer , who died in 2013 , is married and has three children. He is involved as a Familiar of the Teutonic Order .
