Constantin von Waldburg-Zeil (politician)

Count Constantin Leopold Karl Franz Wilhelm Christian Hugo von Waldburg zu Zeil and Trauchburg (born April 1, 1839 in Neutrauchburg , † March 25, 1905 in Meran ) was a politician from Württemberg . He came from the Zeil line of the old Upper Swabian noble family of Truchsesse von Waldburg .

Constantin was the son of Prince Constantin von Waldburg zu Zeil and Trauchburg (* 1807; † 1862) and Princess Maximiliane (* 1813; † 1874) and had five siblings. He attended the University of Munich from 1857 to 1859 before setting out on study trips to Paris , Vienna and Rome . From 1859 to 1862 he served as a cavalry officer in the Württemberg Army and was assigned the rank of lieutenant to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1862 as an advisor in military matters, but soon withdrew into private life. From 1874 to 1887 he was a member of the Reichstag as a member of the Center for the constituency of Württemberg 17 ( Ravensburg , Tettnang , Saulgau and Riedlingen ) . Count Constantin belonged to the Roman Catholic Church and was married to Ludwina Freiin von Hruby and Gelenj (* 1837, † 1901) since 1863.
