Converse is a city in Bexar County in the US state of Texas in the United States .

The city is located about 20 km northeast of San Antonio , almost centrally in the county, in south-central Texas and has a total area of ​​16.4 km² without any significant water surface.

The city was named after Major Converse, a chief engineer of the Southern Pacific Railroad .

According to the 2000 census, 11,508 people lived here in 3,837 households and 3,077 families. The population density was 701.9 inhabitants per km ².
