Cony Theis

Cony Theis (born August 15, 1958 in Ewersbach ) is a German artist who paints and draws on parchment, as well as on skin, who takes photos, creates installations and objects.

Life

She studied from 1979 to 1986 at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and from 1982 to 1989 with Rolf Crummenauer at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf. In 1989 she was a master student at Crummenauer. Since 1986 numerous exhibitions and participation in exhibitions at home and abroad. Theis has been drawing court illustrations for the public press since 1988. During this time, she started working on films by Jürgen Heiter . Since 2007 the artist has been developing artistic designs for external facades as part of her art-in-building projects. a. at the Diez and Zweibrücken prisons. In addition, Cony Theis has been professor of fine arts at the University of Arts in Social Sciences in Ottersberg since 2013. The artist's work is represented and supervised by the Hengevoss-Dürkop Gallery and the Bode Galerie & Edition .
